Some knives are designed to disappear into your pocket.

The Kizer Madrac Vortex didn’t get that memo.

This thing comes dressed in a seriously eye-catching blue-and-orange Micarta handle, backed up by a 3” satin-finished Sandvik 14C28N sheepsfoot blade.

And that’s a combination I can get behind.

At 4.38” closed, the Madrac gives you a substantial handle while keeping the blade at a very EDC-friendly 3 inches.

That blade is flat ground, giving you a nice cutting geometry for cardboard, packages, rope, straps, and all the other stuff a pocket knife ends up dealing with.

And Kizer chose 14C28N stainless steel.

That’s one of my favorite steels to see on an affordable working knife. You get a great balance of corrosion resistance, toughness, edge performance, and relatively easy sharpening without having to pay premium-steel money.

Then there’s that handle.

The combination of blue and orange Micarta gives the Vortex a wild look without turning it into a novelty knife. It’s colorful, different, and definitely not another plain black EDC.

For deployment, you’ve got a thumb stud, along with Kizer’s button liner-lock setup, and a pocket clip keeps it ready for everyday carry.

This is the kind of modern EDC I like seeing Kizer make.

You’ve got a blade steel I actually trust in 14C28N, a practical 3-inch sheepsfoot blade, Micarta handles, and a button liner-lock—all wrapped up in a knife that doesn’t look like everything else on the table.

And that blue-and-orange Micarta is going to get some attention.

This isn’t one of those knives where the wild handle is covering up bargain-basement materials, either.

14C28N + Micarta + Kizer construction is a pretty darn good recipe for an everyday carry.

Use it.

Carry it.

Fidget with it.

Or just stare at that crazy handle for a while.
