The Case XX CA31942 Axe Handle is one of those knives.
At a full 4” closed, this is a substantial traditional pocket knife with a shape that immediately stands out from the usual Trappers and Stockmans.
And Case gave this one a combination that’s hard to beat:
Dark Red Peach Seed Jigged Bone and carbon steel.
The single clip-point blade is made from Case carbon steel and finished to a beautiful mirror polish. Carbon steel takes an excellent edge, sharpens easily, and develops its own unique patina when you actually put it to work.
Then there’s that handle.
The Axe Handle pattern has that distinctive curved profile that gives the knife its name, and the Dark Red Peach Seed Jigged Bone makes it look downright gorgeous.
Add the nickel silver bolsters and Case inlay shield, and you’ve got an old-school Case that manages to look like both a collector’s piece and a working knife.
