Okay, this one is just plain cool.

The CJRB Pyrite Light J1945DLG takes the popular Pyrite design, trims things down into a lightweight everyday carry, and then gives it a handle that actually changes color with temperature.

Yep. Your knife changes colors.

The thermochromic FRN handle transitions from dark green to light green as the temperature changes. It’s one of those features that doesn’t necessarily help you open a box…

But you’re absolutely going to show everybody it does it.

And underneath the cool factor, CJRB didn’t forget to make this thing a legitimate EDC.

You get a 3.25” stonewashed Wharncliffe blade made from CJRB’s AR-RPM9 stainless steel. The Wharncliffe profile gives you a long, straight cutting edge that’s excellent for opening packages, breaking down cardboard, cutting straps, and everyday utility work.

Deployment is handled by a thumb stud, while the button lock makes opening and closing the knife quick, simple, and—let’s admit it—a little addictive.

At 4.25” closed, it’s a comfortable full-size EDC without being overly bulky, and the lightweight FRN construction makes it easy to throw in your pocket and forget about until you need it.

You’ve also got a pocket clip and lanyard hole, and CJRB includes a black nylon zippered storage case.

CJRB could’ve stopped at making this a lightweight Pyrite with AR-RPM9 steel and a button lock, and I’d have already called it a solid EDC.

But then somebody apparently said:

“You know what this knife needs? A handle that changes colors.”

And I’m glad they did.

The thermochromic handle takes what could’ve been another good budget EDC and gives it something people are going to remember.

But this isn’t just a gimmick knife.

You’ve still got AR-RPM9 steel, a useful Wharncliffe blade, button-lock operation, a lightweight FRN handle, and a very pocket-friendly size.

It’s practical enough to carry.

Different enough to collect.

And weird enough that you’re probably going to sit there changing the handle color when you’re bored.
